Mark DeKraai, JD, PhDDr. Mark DeKraai is with the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center where he is involved in projects related to child and family behavioral health and community-based systems of care. Prior to joining the University of Nebraska, he spent 18 years developing state policies and programs in the areas of mental health, substance abuse, developmental disabilities, child welfare and juvenile justice. As Child and Family Mental Health Administrator for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, he was involved in developing the Professional Partner Program, a statewide effort to provide a wraparound approach for children with serious emotional disorders and their families. He served as Principle Investigator for two SAMHSA grants to develop comprehensive children’s mental health systems of care, administered funding for the development of family-operated support organizations in the six mental health regions, and assisted in the development of a wraparound approach for children in Nebraska’s child welfare/juvenile justice system.
