Genetically Modified Foods
This is a project that will measure consumers’ knowledge level of genetically modified (GM) foods, and determine the extent of relationship between that knowledge and consumers’ perceptions of the acceptability of GM foods (e.g., willingness to purchase and eat).
A survey was developed by an biochemistry major at UNL with input from faculty in such departments as Ag Econ, Biology, Plant Pathology, etc. As follow-up to this survey a public deliberations event was held on August 20, 2005 at Gere Branch Library, 2400 South 56th Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. Below is the final report based on these and the survey results.
